The Madison by wenlaine
It's been a number of years since I have done any kind of mini making or building and I must admit I've really missed it alot.  So yesterday, I decided it was time to make my way back into building dollhouses.  I'm starting small only because The Worthington was so large and I became overwhelmed and gave up.    It was started on August 5, 2011.

The front and sides have been put together.  All the sheets of wood have been sealed with White Shellac.
This is the back without the roof on.
The roof has been put on just as a dry fit.
I'm not sure what any of these rooms will be as of yet.  The attic is very tiny so not likely I can make much use of this area.
This kit didn't include any stairs so I cut a hole in the attic floor and made a staircase to fit.  It won't be installed until after the walls and flooring have been done.
I decided to raise the roof and so I added 2 inches to the height which now gives me plenty of room for a bathroom and bedroom.
It's now all been wired and I placed the roof back on to make sure it would fit perfectly.
This is how the front looks built up but I still need to fill any gaps with spackle.  The porch will be next to work on.  I used 1/8" poster board for the build up.
Both the kitchen and bathroom flooring are printies.
I'm going to rug the livingroom and bedroom but I'm so undecided on which one of these I like best for this house.  I'm leaning towards the brown one for the livingroom and no idea for the bedroom as of yet.
I've added a foundation and bricked the house.  I will need to scrape off some of the brick around the windows and door. The  trim pieces have been painted white.  I just need to give them a second coat before installing them.  After that is done, then I will be working on the porch.
The exterior trim has been installed. The shutters need to be painted, I was thinking maybe a dark green. The front door hasn't been installed yet but I've decided to leave it this color.
The shutters have been installed as well as the front door.  Now onto the porch.
I've put the porch together and attached to the house although I still need to work on the foundation of the porch yet.
The Shingles are On
Although the shingles are on, I still need to stain them.
The shingles have been stained.  The dollhouse has been placed on a base to prepare for landscaping.  This is not the rose trellis I will be using, I found this one to be too small so I made two others about an inch taller.
The tree is installed and I covered the earth with mulch and added dirt to the flower beds.  I can't wait to start putting in flowers.
I need to clean off the bricks around the garden beds and finish the right side and then it's on to the interior.  I must admit I've never been any type of gardener including a miniature gardener so I found this very difficult to do.  All the flowers were made by me using origami paper and punches.
I'm now finished putting the stones (paper cartons) on and it's all been painted.  Now the exterior is finished.
I've done a tutorial on how to make the roses here:

ROSE TUTORIAL
Today I've put up the wallpaper in the livingroom and also laid down the rug.  I've yet to fix the sofa and chair, I'm going to make new cushions for the seats and backs.  I can't believe I totally forgot about the ceiling paper.  That will have to get done first thing tomorrow.
