The Jefferson by wenlaine
This house is a dedication to the memory of my mother-in-law. She died in a Japanese prison camp in 1945 where her son (my husband) survived. She had dreamed once the war was over, she would have her own modern kitchen without servants. Her dream was never realized. The door needs a doorhandle and knocker which I will install shortly. The plaque is approximately 1 1/4" x 1/2".
This was my first attempt at wiring a dollhouse and my first chandelier lit up. Eventually all the rooms will have lighting. I've made blinds for all the windows and will get to the curtains/drapes soon. I was also very pleased with how my ceilings turned out. All the flooring was made by me as well as the fireplace.
This kit didn't come with a staircase to the attic so I built this circular stairway. I have since put a railing on it. On the downstairs hall, I took the small design in the wallpaper and printed it to fabric for the stair runner.
The pictures on the walls are of my husband's mother. The one above the mantle is of her and her husband shortly after their marriage and also a picture of her parents in later life. I've added books to the bookcase and made the couch and chair as well as designed and made the rug. I also made the valances and drapes.
The table, chairs, hutch and sink were all kits. I made the dishes in the cupboard and on the table from patterns I found on the internet. I've made the curtains as well.
I've added this picture of Gore Park which you see upon entering my city.
The plant I made from floral tape.
My most favorite artist is Alan Maley. Above the bed is a print of one of his paintings. I made the hat on the dresser and the hatbox from a printie. The dresser was a HOM kit and I crocheted the blanket.
This room may be the maid's bedroom.
This picture shows the flooring in the upstairs rooms. All the flooring was designed and made by me.
A picture showing all the lights on.
Livingroom showing bookcase and fireplace.
I used tile slate for the roof and really enjoyed working with it. The shutters are now put on.

All the floors are in place now.
I used egg cartons to make the fireplace. I had made this flooring before the house was built.
I absolutely loved the siding that came with this house.
Now to add the furniture.
Upstairs light installed.
I made the dishes. The kitchen table and chairs were a kit. Eventually I changed my mind on the cupboard and dishes and used others I had made instead.
This bedroom needed a new look so I took down the drapes and took off the blanket I had made and crocheted this blanket for the bed. I will be making new drapes soon.
I made this partition in the attic to make a bathroom on the end. I used foamcore board.
The staircase is in and this is before I made the runner for it. I also had to make the flooring after it was installed. Poor planning on my part, for sure!
